Rick was a wonderful man, and a genuine friend.  Though I knew Rick in high school, we really became acquainted when we both transferred to UMSL and had an Art History class together.  Over the years, we laughed more than a few time about our experience with that class.  Let's jsut say we weren't cosmopolitan men!

When our kids were small, we vacationed several times to Branson and points thereabouts.  Through the years, I can't tell you all the float trips we took, and all the fun we had with family and friends, including the Paulsen clan.

My family and I have many great memories of times spent with Rick, Lynn and the girls, and our hearts ached when Rick and Lynn's daughter, Jill, passed away on March 19, 2014.  That ache was repeated when we received word last week that Rick had passed away.

Rick loved the song Martian Boogie, by Brownsville Station.  I flipped it on YouTube the other night and smiled as I thought of him singing and playing air guitar.  I could see Jill laughing as he was doing it, too.

Our condolences to Lynn, Kristin, Mike, and Jillian, and Bob, Barb, John and Nancy and their families.

Rest in peace, friend.
